RAJAMANGALA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY KRUNGTHEP
INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE INNOVATION AND CULTURE

The program adopts an integrated approach to learning, integrating the various functions of education and society into the educational process.

In addition to offering foundation courses in education, the program aims to develop students holistically by incorporating relevant course offerings such as the following: educational research; teaching with technology; educational innovation; education in Asia; culture, politics and language in education.

The program examines the social setting of educational institutions, the role of schools in social transformation, the influence and implications of formal and non-formal educational forces, and the economics and politics of school reform attempts. Graduates are equipped with an understanding of the interplay of culture, power and values in all educational pursuits.

Associate Professor Dr. Yudhi Arifani is a Senior Lecturer in the English language and Education Department. He got his Ph.D. degree from Universitas Negeri Malang through government funding, one of the best English education institutions in South East Asia. Because of his excellent research in English education, he got an opportunity to enroll as a visiting scholar at Ohio State University from 2008 to 2009. In his careers, he held the International Relations Office, Director of Research Center, and Post Graduate Program at a university in Gresik from 2014 to 2021. Currently, he is the founder of the Indonesian Researcher in English Education (I-READ) association. He supervises international research publications for all EFL lecturers in the association and some Ph.D. students from two public universities in Indonesia. His research interest involves Teacher Professional Development and Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) pedagogy. His research has been widely published in international reputable journals indexed by Scopus and SSCI, and he is also on the editorial board and a reviewer of Scopus and SSCI indexed journals.

This program prepares students for professional work and serves as a springboard for further education and social development.

Graduates will be prepared to teach and use information as educators or professional in the classroom or the field.

Developing and resolving scientific and technological problems through an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary approach while maintaining human values and character.

Developing graduates capable of managing research in education and society fosters innovation, results in original and tested work, and earns a national and international reputation—applying innovative educational and social research findings to the broader population via community service activities.

Graduates of the Doctor of Philosophy in Education and Society (Ph.D.) and the Master of Arts (MA) in Education and Society (International Program) should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  1. A broad theoretical and technical knowledge base and some depth in the underlying ideas and concepts in one or more disciplines in the areas of education and society.
  2. Contribute to the amount and quality of research in education, society, and related subject areas.
  3. Apply knowledge and skills in planning, problem-solving, and decision-making with initiative and judgment for education and society.
  4. Possess the cognitive skills to identify, analyze, and evaluate information and concepts from various sources.
  5. Write, analyze, and objectively critique proposals, concept papers and reports.
  6. Use English effectively to engage in seminars and deliver oral presentations.
  7. Apply communication and analytical skills to interpret and respond to complex problems.
  8. Exemplify the values of integrity, innovativeness, fair-mindedness, transparency, sense of responsibility and accountability.

Dr. Xiang WANG

Bio:

Professor Dr. WANG Xiang (MSc and PhD, Nanjing Normal University-Jiangsu, China) was a research fellow at Mahidol University, Thailand and an external doctoral supervisor at University of Putra, Malaysia.

He currently serves as a distinguished professor of Guiyang Preschool Teachers College, responsible for the faculty’ s scientific research and outreach of the college. He was formerly the chief organizer in charge of Provincial Key Disciplines of Pedagogical Principles in Guizhou Province, China before 2021. His specialization includes curriculum and teaching from his study in Shaanxi Normal University, China and aesthetic pedagogy in Nanjing Normal University, China. His experience as a visiting scholar in Cambridge University inspired his present study interest in computational pedagogy.

Dr. HUGO YU-HSIU LEE

Bio:

Associate Professor Dr. Hugo Yu-Hsiu Lee (MSc and Ph.D., Indiana University-Bloomington, U.S.A.) was an award-winning researcher at the Indiana University-Bloomington, U.S.A., and the National Institute of Development Administration, Bangkok, Thailand. In addition, he was the Distinguished Harste Alternative Literacies Fellowship Winner and Ruth Strickland Memorial Fund Scholar of the Indiana University School of Education, U.S.A.

He currently serves as the United Nations Learning Team Member in the United Nations Learning Centre (Bangkok), responsible for teaching the Chinese language in the United Nations.  Formerly he was the chief organizer for the Harvard University’s Harvard College for Asia Program conference held in the United Nations back in 2019.    His specialization includes theology from his study in the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A., and the Reformed Theological Seminary, Taipei City, Taiwan.

Dr. Clinton Chidiebere Anyanwu

Dr. Clinton Chidiebere Anyanwu is a seasoned lecturer in the field of education. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Economics/Education from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, an Honours degree in Education, a master’s degree in Education, and a Doctorate degree in Computer Science Education, all from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He has been engaged in a number of research publications in the areas of technology integration in teaching and learning. His research interest is in the areas of higher education teaching and learning, technology integration, learning management systems, technology adoption and innovation, and the roles of the 4th industrial revolution(4IR) in education. In teaching, he specialized in Education Studies, Curriculum Studies, Technology Integration, Educational Research, and Economics Education.


Asst. Prof. Dr. Saifon Songsiengchai

Asst. Prof. Dr. Saifon Songsiengchai is a dedicated and accomplished educator and researcher who has left an indelible mark on the fields of education and language teaching. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Teaching English as the Global Language from the University of Burapa in Chonburi in 2019, showcasing a commitment to advancing global English language education.

Dr. Songsiengchai, part of the International Program at the university, also holds a previous academic degree from Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok, obtained in 2001. Her passion for educational improvement is evident in her extensive research portfolio, featuring notable publications that delve into diverse topics such as student well-being, metacognitive skills enhancement, and effective teaching methods for pre-service teachers. With her work published in reputable journals and databases such as the International Journal of Higher Education, English Language Teaching, ERIC International, EBSCO Host, Google Scholar, and the Thai Citation Index (TCI),

Dr. Songsiengchai has significantly contributed to the enhancement of language teaching, education, and cultural development.
