ASCAR Conducts Orientation to ISIC
Believing in the importance of having and getting the right information only from the right academic support department, the Institute of Science, Innovation, and Culture organized an orientation session last 24th of May 2022. It aimed to educate the frontline staff members of ISIC on the essential procedures involved in the admission of students — from registration to graduation.
The Institute with Assistant Professor Alongkorn Yusamran, the Director of the Academic Support Center and Registration (ASCAR)’s endorsement, ASCAR Deputy Director Assistant Professor Dr. Patchanee “Aj Noi” Srikhamsuk represented as the key speaker. Khun Nipaporn Atharn, the curriculum cluster head, and Khun Nuanchan Phaobthong, the student registration cluster head of ASCAR, were also present to assist in explaining the UTK policies and regulations. Dr. Patchanee served as the primary resource speaker of the activity attended by the ISIC staff members, the lecturers, and executives headed by the ISIC Director, Dr. Yaoping LIU.
The orientation was opened by Dr. Marlon Rael Astillero, ISIC Assistant Director for Academic Services and Research. He talked about the importance of understanding the processes involved in the admission and registration of students and the documentary requirements for graduation.
Director Yaoping LIU then formally welcomed the guest resource speaker and the ISIC team for the attendance. Dr. LIU mentioned in his talk the need for the staff to familiarize themselves with the process and know the ASCAR executives involved in it for a more coordinated and seamless transaction.
After the preliminaries, the main talk proceeded. The admission documentation requirements, transfer credits, student identification numbers issuance, accessing and familiarizing the registration system features, and the credit banking system, which will be offered by ISIC, were discussed.
After the very informative session, all attendees asked clarificatory questions about the topics discussed. The “question and answer” portion was an eye-opener for all attendees as they better understood the steps and processes involved in the registration system.
To end the orientation, Director Yaoping LIU extended his thanks and appreciation to Ajarn Noi, her colleagues, and the ISIC team for their enthusiastic participation. ISIC is looking forward to a mutually rewarding partnership with the Academic Support Center and Registration (ASCAR), significantly since the Institute is growing in numbers.
